The University of Alabama awarded some 1,342 degrees during its summer commencement Aug. 4. Dean's, President's Lists Students Named for UA Summer 2018 Term
A total of 493 students enrolled during the 2018 summer term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Samford University Commencement Spring 2018
A record 1,240 degrees were awarded. That tops the 2017 record of 1,165. An estimated 250 students graduated with honors. In the seven commencement ceremonies, 33 different degree programs were recognized, including the first graduates in the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Athletic Training, Master of Science in Respiratory Care, Master of Science in Health Informatics and Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration programs in the College of Health Sciences. Graduating students represented 28 states and seven other countries: United Kingdom, Malaysia, China, France, South Korea, Canada and Germany.

SMC students inducted into national psychology honor society
On April 3, 2018, 20 Spartanburg Methodist College students were inducted into Psi Beta, the national psychology honor society for students at two-year colleges. Psi Beta members must have an overall GPA of 3.25 and completion of 12 academic hours with a B average in Psychology 101 and/or Psychology 201. A high standard of personal behavior and integrity is required.

SMC students inducted into national scholastic honor society
On April 3, 2018, 17 Spartanburg Methodist College students were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the national scholastic honor society for students at two-year colleges. Members of Phi Theta Kappa must have an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher with a minimum of 16 academic hours. They must also be of good moral character and possess recognized good qualities of citizenship.

Wofford students study abroad during Interim 2018
Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty adviser. More than 200 students chose to study abroad during Interim 2018.
